Dear Friend,
Years ago, I arranged a life changing medical missions trip with my wife Lynette to Kenya, Africa. February 21, 1984, I journaled, “I decided to arrange a trip with a medical mission for several reasons. First, as a Christian, I wished to show gratefulness to the Lord Jesus, for bringing me into a personal relationship with himself. This trip would serve as a introduction to an important area of service where I could have a part in mirroring God’s care for me, and also fulfill my responsibility to use the gifts that he has given me, to meet the needs of those who are otherwise least likely to have them met.” As a young man, this was the conviction of my heart–to serve Christ by serving the helpless as he exampled us to. Needless to say, that trip to Africa was life altering and today, this is still the conviction of my heart. I sincerely believe that I am not alone in this call to the helpless and that is why I would like to impart financial gifts to other young, aspiring medical students who wish to serve on the mission field, such as myself. This all in hopes that they will share their story with us and as they complete their career goals, return, and enable others, as we have enabled them.
